You should have left it long!. It will work better if you use dish soap to remove ALL oil and maybe conditioner. I've made brushes from deer hair, it's stiffer than goat but it wears out fast.

Kasey: Surely you’ve heard of the Girl Scouts. Me: *Looks at my Girl Scouts Lifetime Membership card*. Yeah, I think I’ve heard of them. 😜. I missed out on Daisies because my mom and I somehow missed hearing about the signups for it. And I skipped the first year of Juniors (for a dumb reason looking back), however I did everything else (3 yrs Brownies, 2 yrs Juniors, 3 yrs Cadettes, 3 yrs Seniors) and earned my Silver Award. I helped my mom lead some Daisies for a few years and then we volunteered with an older girl troop. A few weeks after my senior year of High School ended, our troop went to England for a week and stayed part of the time at Pax Lodge, one of the World Association for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts centers. Eventually when they had a deal (since I never got to it as a Senior) my mom and I both became lifetime members. Your Sketch Scouts are cute and I love the patches-such a fun idea! I think I might still have my Junior badge book from the ‘90s and have thought about looking through the art/creative badges to see if I could try filming “earning” one. Also, I have so many hobbies and interests, so many WIPs, etc. that I understand getting burned out and cycling through them, having to put some on the back burner for a while, etc.

To be fair, the glass pen is more for writing than illustration. You were right that it's not really fair to compare it to the other pens. I was able to write with one here in Thailand recently and I loved it. I just didn't love the hefty price tag when I have seen these pens go for MUCH less. They wanted 1200-1800 baht (33 - 50 dollars) for a pen set which included some ink, but not much, and a matching glass pen rest. As a writer, I want to find something like this because a fountain pen is very messy. This glass pen is easy to clean in some water, then using a tissue to wipe off the end. Super easy. Super practical. Very enjoyable experience. I just wish they weren't feminine looking. A more masculine looking pen would be great to see.

I'm sure I'm not the first person to suggest this but what if??? prixel 500 prompts video? I think it'd be fun to do the prompts with whatever medium you're feeling at the time (obviously though no pressure and I get just not wanting to do the prompts atm or wanting them to all be watercolor lol sdgd)

Are you aware of your bias against Holbein? Your price quote on them is wrong (Carandache is more) and the Derwent (though beautiful soft and easy to blend) are expensive AND Constantly BREAK. Holbeins don’t break and the wax bloom is very low AND their light fastness is better than Prisma. You also don’t use the Polychromos or the Carandache pencils properly. They’re not made to go in with the force of a toddler wielding a crayon (no judgement, I like using full force too, just not with pencils that aren’t designed for it). They’re specifically made to build up (that’s why you had fallout with the Carandache pencils. One thing you showed but didn’t mention is that the pigment performance is heavily based on color. So Prisma might have the best quality greens while Derwent can have the best reds and Holbein the best blue. After doing tons of research recently I’ve found that a Frankenstein collection of a variety of pencils is the most effective way to achieve your artistic goals.
